How to measure the area of a parallelogram
remember to measure base x
height
(not base x side)
base x height
8 cm
8 cm
8 x 8 = 64
you can also divide the parallelogram into two triangles as shown to the left
( go to triangles on website to find how to measure area of triangles )
how to measure the area of a trapazoid
how to measure the area of a trapazoid
to measure the area of a trapazoid, you must calculate the top of the trapazoid and the bottom.
4 cm + 8 cm = 12 cm... then you find the number that is in betweenthem = 6
then multiply that number by half of the height
height = 4 cm so 4 divided by 2 = 2 so 6 x 2 =
12
you can also divide it into two triangles (go to triangles to find out how to find the area of a triangle)
